File Sharing is one of them most
dramatic changes that has taken place on the internet over the
past few years. In its simplest terms,
file sharing is
the practice of making files available for other users to
download over the Internet
We
have decided that file sharing would be an excellent
way for your Federation to communicate with board members,
campaign workers, volunteers, The Jewish Press, and
participating agencies. File sharing will allow us to
transfer board meeting agendas, instruction manuals, word
documents, annual reports, and much more to your home computer. The possibilities are endless!
This material
will be secure and password protected and available 24/7. Not everyone will be able
to access all of the folders – just those files that are
pertinent to their field of interest.
We hope file
sharing will enable us to spend more money on the good work
we do locally and in Israel rather than spend it on postage and
printing costs.
How File
Sharing Will Work
1
You will first need to be a registered user of the
Federation website. To register, go to our home page by
clicking here, click on the Login In/ Register link at
the top right of the page and Register Now as a new user.
Click on the link “File Sharing” on the left side
navigational bar of the home page.
2
After you are
registered, click on the
File Sharing link on the left side navigational bar
of the home page. You will be instructed to login in with your user name
and password. If you have forgotten this information,
you will be given the opportunity to retrieve it from
our files.
3
Once you have completed the log in process, you will
be automatically taken to a web page that will list the
folders to which you have access.
4
Click on the folder whose files you want to read, and
then click on the file. It will be opened in a new window
from which you can read it, print it, and save it to your
hard drive. You will be able to view these files as many times as
you want and whenever you want as long as you have a computer
and internet access.
5
Note: If you
have already registered, please make sure you have completed all
the required information (indicated by an asterisk). If you left
anything out, we will be unable to register you for access to
file sharing. In addition, please let us know your federation
“username” (not your password) so we can easily find your
account.
